2018 just zipped by! During the past twelve months we learned a lot (#newbieparents) about what we could go without during the day and wouldn’t miss annnnd we also learned about the “absolute-life-easing” items. I wanted to dedicate this post to all you parents out there (or that friend who has no idea what to snag for her bestie’s one-year-old) in hopes that you too, can find something that makes the crazy (but fun!) task of raising a little human a tad easier.
Baby must-haves list!
- This playard from amazon is amazing for visiting family members homes, going over to friends, or even outside. It provides a larger space for your child to play in safely once they become more mobile! And it collapses so easily.
- Sooooo excited that these suction bowls were created!!! It has contained many potential messes and they travel so easily because they are small. And they even suction to the bumbo which is awesome!
- The snack-catcher from munchkin has been a real life saver on many outings! It allows Nolan to munch (which he loooooves to do) even when we’re on the go without making a huge mess.
- Did any other new parents have like 4 different kinds of wipes on hand at all times? We did… and it drove everyone (and us to be honest lol) a little cray cray. Once we stumbled upon these huggies wipes we were soooo stoked! We now only have diaper wipes and these huggies wipes for gentle cleansing/disinfecting while out and about!
- Okay, these Adidas kicks are as cute as they are comfy! They slip on easily and they have an orthopedic sockliner for comfort and a grippy rubber sole for great traction and control.
- Our son’s nurse practitioner recommended this cream after he had a rash that not even the famed “buttpaste” could soothe. She told us about calmoseptine and the rest (especially the red, irritated parts!) is history. Ask your pediatrician before using, but it works so amazingly well for us!
- This little white-noise machine is probably my number one favorite thing on this list. We have used this since the first day we brought our son home. It is portable and it gets loud enough to mask just about any noise so your little one can rest (annnd I may have used it for a couple of “mommy-time” naps).
- One of my best friends got me this little seersucker backpack and it was so perfect once Nolan started needing less for going out and about (this hit once he started needing less formula and burp-cloths). We keep a changing pad, change of clothes, diapers, wipes, pouches, emergency motrin, and a couple of small toys all in this little bag (along with my wallet and some makeup for touch-ups!)! It’s so cute and you can get it personalized!
- Silicone, washable bibs that catch all the food… need I say more??? They roll up and are easy to take to restaurants too! #score
- This changing station from Skip Hop is so perfect for keeping in the car! We travel at 4.5 hours at least once a month to the Dallas area and this changing station has put this momma’s heart at ease so many times. It’s thick and cushy, super easy to wipe clean and it can hold a couple of diapers and small set of wipes!
- Baby lotion, (especially a good one!) is so necessary. And Nolan’s skin reacts to even the lightly-scented baby lotions. So we reached for the Cerave and never looked back. It’s so thick and creamy, it makes his skin instantly smooth and keeps it that way for hours! We always keep one in his overnight bag and in the car.
- THIS FAN ROCKS! We live in hot, muggy, suburban Houston and it stays that way majority of the year. Thus, the need of a device that provides cool air! This fan is so cool because it has a rechargeable battery and clip to anything! And it puts out some power! If you need a fan, run- snag this little power-house asap.
- The UppaBaby Minu is the only umbrella stroller you ever need! It (very easily) collapses down to a size that fits in the overhead bin of an airplane! It also has a basket that is substantial to hold all the necessities! Go to YouTube and search this stroller for yourself- its ahhhmazing!
- This iPad case is so durable and comes with a strap to attach it to the headrest in your car! I also love the stand so you can prop it up on a table in those “last resort” situations!
- A good friend recommended this high chair from Phil and Teds and I am SO glad she did! The only fabric part of the chair are the straps, which makes clean up a BREEZE! Also, once your little outgrows the high chair, the legs collapse to create a small chair for them to use!
In closing,
I hope sharing these items with you all helps you find some good items for you and your little one! If you have a “must-have” baby item, leave me a comment! I want to know!
Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for sharing this list! I’m due in April and haven’t had an infant in 6 years so it’s super helpful to see what everyone is using and loving lately!
